Pulp fiction
Nocturnal (for children only)

An exhibition at the Pine Rivers Regional Art Gallery from Wednesday 05 July to Saturday 12 August 2006. Visual stories inspired by the natural environment: moths, millipedes & moontrees - sculpture, recycled books and paper pulp installations. This exhibition is the outcome of an exciting artist in residency program by Lesa Hepburn at North Lakes State College in 2005. Students from the art extension classes and the Art Club produced paper artworks telling stories from their surrounding environment at North Lakes .

The children were exposed to natural fibre art and had the opportunity to create conceptual art pieces in an artist's studio setting. They have learned to create handmade paper, sculptural forms and artists' books and to explore the hidden opportunities of recycled materials.

Red Hot Fibre
a selection of works by natural fibre artist Lesa Hepburn

An exhibition at the Pine Rivers Regional Art Gallery from Wednesday 05 July to Saturday 12 August 2006. Queensland natural fibre artist, Lesa Hepburn , draws her inspiration from the Moreton Bay sea and land environments. Lesa is working on a continuously evolving group of artworks that have a deep current of environmental awareness running through them and demonstrate her passion for the forms and images that can be created with natural fibre handmade paper.

Pulp Fiction & Red Hot Fibre
are supported by Arts Queensland and the Pine Rivers Shire Council through the Regional Arts Development Fund. The project has also been supported by Amcor Cartonboard at Petrie.
